The story of VKitchen began in Saigon, Vietnam in the early 1980s. The Pham and Phung families found their Pho recipe during the post-Vietnam War chaos. Despite a peak in economic and political tension during the first part of the decade, their first restaurant opened in Southern Vietnam and became an immediate success. Through hard work and determination, their business grew and both families were soon selling more than 20 varieties of dishes, desserts and drinks.

With great foresight, their sons decided to expand abroad and open a fast-casual restaurant that offers an extensive menu of home-style Vietnamese dishes. And here we are! The first authentic Vietnamese restaurant has arrived to the beautiful city of Ann Arbor and strives to offer you a satisfying meal at an affordable price.

The meaning of the V is trifold: first it stands for the provenance of our authentic Vietnamese recipes; second, it symbolizes the pair of chopsticks central to the authentic Vietnamese dining experience; third, it signals the economic victory of a business that triumphed despite all odds.
